Dear Box Springs Families,

Welcome back to school! I hope you enjoyed time with friends and family during your summer vacation. As you may know, I am taking on the new assignment as Principal at Box Springs. My name is Wade Hamilton. I am looking forward to a great school year with you and your children.
Welcome back!

News & Highlights

Mix Match Day
Friday, January 16, is Mix Match Day. Students are encouraged to show their Box Springs spirit by wearing clothes they would not usually wear together. Red, pink, purple, green, and yellow don't go together? Well, they do on Mix Match Day! Wear stripes, polka dots, two different socks and two different shoes. You can even wear your Box Springs Bruins shirt or sweatshirt. It doesn't matter, as long as you join in the fun! All students who participate will get a small treat and the winning classes will have the Spirit Poster to hang in their room until the next spirit day. Go Bruins!
Fall into Reading
As we all know, we get better at things when we practice diligently. In an effort to have your student practice their reading every day we are starting the Fall into Reading Program.
Please keep track of the amount of time your student reads each day.
Each week your student will receive a raffle ticket for every 200 minutes a week they have read. This averages out to be half an hour each day. (We are measuring time so that all grade levels and reading abilities can participate)
At the end of the month during Student of the Month Assembly, 10 raffle tickets will be drawn and those students awarded prizes. Incremental Awards will be awarded as well.
The class with the most minutes at the end of each trimester will be awarded with an ice cream party.
Each Friday minutes will be calculated and kept in a running log.
Please be sure and turn your reading logs to you teachers. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Justice at or at (951) 571-4530 during school day
Harvest Festival November 14
The Box Springs Harvest Festival is Friday, November 14, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Bring your family and join us for an evening of live music, games, food, and crafts. The Performing Arts Club is busily rehearsing for their presentation of American folk songs, dancing, and telling some tall tales. We are in need of raffle prizes, decorations, and food items. If you are able to make a donation, please call the office or contact Mrs. Justice. We hope to see you there!
Red Ribbon Week
This week, students, parents, and staff are spreading the message to "Love Yourself. Be Drug Free". Students can show their commitment each day of the week - Monday: Wear red and receive a red ribbon and bracelet; Tuesday: Put a Cap on Drugs and wear a crazy hat; Wednesday: Stay on the Team, Be Drug Free by wearing a sports shirt or hat; Thursday: Sock it to Drugs and wear crazy socks; Friday: Be Pawsitively Drug Free and wear school colors.
